Frequently Asked Questions:

What do I do when I go away?
Unplug your system from its power source and unplug your phone lines/cable lines from your computer. This will reduce the risk of a failure due to a lightening strike. If you have printer ink cartridges that are at least half full, you can remove them (carefully!) from the printer, put them in a zip lock bag, seal it tightly and put them in the fridge. Do NOT put them in the freezer. Never touch the metal parts (usually copper) of any print cartridge. And of course, if you turn off your fridge when you leave, this tip won't work for you.

How do I protect my system from a power surge while in use?
A good-branded UPS (uninterruptible power supply) will protect your system and keep it running even if the power goes out. It should contain a surge protector and a battery backup. This will allow you to save important information and safely turn your system off if you have a power outage.

How do I travel with my system?
Pack it tight!! If it is a desktop computer, keep it upright during transport. If it is a laptop, lay it flat and do pile other things on top of it. Never leave electronics unattended in a car. Never leave electronics in a car in hot weather in direct contact with sunlight.

My computer stopped working after I traveled with it. HELP!!!
More than likely, a board or cable has come loose. You may need to tighten or re-seat something internally. Call us for information about diagnosing this problem.
